  • We welcome the SC judgement in the Karnataka disqualification matter which vindicated INCs stand.
  • It is a tight slap to the power hungry BJP who orchestrated the political horse trading.
  • Now will the BJP humiliate themselves by giving tickets to disqualified MLAs?
  • After the SC judgment BS Yediyurappa has lost moral right to continue in his post.
  • President of India and Govt. Of India must take immediate steps to dissolve the BJP Govt in Karnataka formed by horse trading and illegal practices.
  • It is necessary for a better democracy to undo the naked contradiction that an MLA disqualified under the Anti-Defection Law is able to contest election again.

  • The Prince of Wales called on President Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
  • The President said that India and the United Kingdom are natural partners bound by historical ties and shared values of democracy, rule of law and respect for multicultural society.
  • The President congratulated The Prince of Wales on his election as the head of the Commonwealth.
  • He said that India considers the Commonwealth as an important grouping that voices the concerns of a large number of countries, including the Small Island Developing States.

Supreme Court tells Govt. to frame appointment rules again and get them cleared by Parliament

  • The Supreme Court has closed the doors for arbitrary appointment by Modi govt.
  • SC has said that the rules which were framed by the govt. in the last 1.5 years, are illegal, told them to frame the rules again and get them cleared by Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha

To my query in Parliament as to increasing the retirement age of High Court Judges from 62 to 65, Hon’ Law minister has replied that CJI haswritten to him on same lines; that retired judges will be employed if the vacancies are filled up and still there are backlog of cases in HC
