Vahana Sevas in Brahmotsavams culminates with Aswa Vahanam

Tirumala, 7 Oct. 19 – Day 8 Evening

  • Lord Malayappa Swamy portrayed Kalki Avatara on the Aswa Vahana Seva observed on the eighth day evening in Tirumala on Monday.
  • During the nine-day brahmotsavams, Lord has taken a ride on 16 different carriers (including Swarna Ratham and Maha Ratham). The vahana sevas has come to an end with Aswa Vahanam.
  • The significance of Aswa Vahanam is Horse is known for its speed. On the speeding divine horse, the Ucchaishrava, Sri Malayappa in the guise of Kalki, holding the sword in one hand, marched along the four Mada streets to bless His devotees. This implies, the Lord will save the world from the evil forces.

Procession of Divine wooden chariot held

Tirumala, 7 Oct. 19 – Day 8 Morning

  • On the penultimate day of annual brahmotsavams at Tirumala, the grand procession of the mammoth wooden chariot was held on Monday.
  • The giant car marched along the jam-packed four mada streets with pilgrims on the bright Sunny Day.
  • The processional deities of Sri Malayappa Swamy,  Sri Devi and Bhudevi mounted on a well-decked platform in the chariot was dragged by enthusiastic pilgrims who chanted Govinda… Govinda with religious ecstasy.
  • As Tallapaka Annamacharya described in his sankeertan,  “the sky and earth became one as the Brahmanda Ratham marched along the streets and it is a treat to the eyes who witness the grand celestial procession of Maha Ratham”.

Suryanarayana as Badarinarayana glitters bright on Surya Prabha Vahanam

Tirumala, 6 Oct. 19 – Day 7 Morning

  • Sri Malayappa Swamy who shines bright as Sri Suryanarayana Murthy on Surya Prabha Vahanam, took the celestial form of Badarinayana in Yoga Mundra on the carrier on the bright sunny day on Sunday.
  • On the seventh day morning of the ongoing annual Brahmotsavams at Tirumala, Lord Malayappa Swamy blessed His devotees on the well decked dazzling Surya Prabha Vahana.
  • According to Hindu mythology, Lord Srimannarayana lies in the midst of Surya Mandala which is the Sun’s sphere in the cosmos. Wearing a diamond gauntlet, seated majestically atop the seven horses driving Surya Prabha Vahanam, Sri Malayappa Swamy took a celestial ride along the four mada streets.
  • To match the occasion, the Lord was decorated with a huge garland made of red colour ixora flowers which enhanced the beauty of Lord. Devotees were mused by the charm of Lord on Surya Prabha Vahanam.
